Meet The Conut Crew: McKenna Meyer

I started working at Scream’ N Conuts in Suamico as of last summer. I actually live in Two Rivers, WI so you're probably wondering why you don’t see me working at our Two Rivers location. How I got started working at Conuts is pretty interesting. My best friend, Claire, was the manager at the Two Rivers location first so I would go to visit and say hi. I went to do that one day and walked into the place being super busy, line out the door. They only had Claire and one other person working so I asked Claire if she would want some help. She said she didn't know what I would be able to do. I jumped in and filled chocolates in the Conuts then helped with the register. I had no idea what I was doing but I was pretending like I did. After that day, Emilee (the owner) asked me if I was looking for a job and wanted to work in the new Suamico location with Claire as the manager. I agreed and now catch the Claire shuttle to work every weekend (hehe).
Outside of working at Scream ‘N Conuts in the summer, I am a full time undergrad student at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Science in hopes of becoming a middle school science teacher. I am very involved at my college in clubs and part time jobs. I am the Vice President of the Aspiring Educators of Wisconsin club, a member of the Honors Student Association, a Peer Mentor on campus and an After School Teacher for the local elementary schools. I keep pretty busy!! This summer you will also find me keeping busy with a second job as a Summer Mentor for middle schoolers at the YMCA in Manitowoc.
Besides work and school I surprisingly have time for other hobbies. I love to go shopping. I would literally shop til I dropped if I had the money for it! I enjoy traveling when I can. Recently, I took a trip to Florida and Alabama and plan to go to Minnesota this summer. I have been to 3 countries outside the United States (France, England and Canada) and over 35 states. With my friends, I like to play sand volleyball, longboard, and play fun board/card games. With my family, I like to go out to eat, watch sporting events, camp, and go up north. This might get some people mad but my favorite music is country music. There is no competition, I would listen to Luke Combs on repeat everyday! My favorite food in the whole world is… ICE CREAM! You can ask anyone who knows me and they would say the same. So, you can bet I get at least a scoop of ice cream when I’m working.

My favorite menu item is a classic orange float! The French vanilla ice cream with the orange soda reminds me of eating dreamsicles as a kid! This is perfect for when I’m in the mood for something to drink but also want to have ice cream. You get the best of both worlds! We also have Root Beer, Dr.Pepper, Diet Coke and Coke for our floats if orange isn't your thing. Watch me make it here!
If you are in the Suamico area on the weekends I will be there so make sure to stop and say hi and pick up a refreshing Orange Float!
